El Prof. Dr. Osman İLHAN se graduó de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Ankara en 1978. Tras completar su residencia en medicina interna en la misma facultad en 1982, se desempeñó como residente superior en la Clínica de Hematología GATA durante su servicio militar. Tras completar su servicio obligatorio en el Hospital SSK Ulus, regresó a la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Ankara para cursar una subespecialidad. En 1990, se convirtió en profesor asociado de hematología. Trabajó en Génova, Italia, para ampliar sus conocimientos y experiencia en leucemia. Formó parte del equipo que realizó el primer trasplante de células madre de médula ósea en Turquía. En 1996, se trasladó al MD Anderson Cancer Center de EE. UU. para trabajar en "Movilización, criopreservación y trasplante de células madre". En 1996, se convirtió en profesor de hematología. En 1999, fue elegido presidente regional de la ESFH (Sociedad Europea de Hemaféresis). El Dr. İlhan, fundador y presidente de la Sociedad de Hemaféresis en el año 2000, se unió a la Asociación Mundial de Aféresis (WAA) en 2001. En octubre de 2001, asumió la presidencia de la Asociación Turca de Hematología. El Dr. İlhan, miembro activo de la Asociación Europea de Hematología (EHA), fue miembro del comité de acreditación educativa (ECAH). Participó en la acreditación de hematólogos turcos en créditos de formación médica continua (CME), participando en la acreditación de congresos y cursos celebrados en Turquía como proveedor. Se desempeñó como presidente fundador de la Asociación de Terapia Celular y Medicina Regenerativa establecida en 2008. Se convirtió en el presidente fundador de la Asociación de Hematología Geriátrica en 2011. Es el Presidente Honorario del Congreso Mundial de Aféresis (WAA) celebrado en 2012. El Dr. İlhan, quien anteriormente sirvió en comités de ética y licencias de medicamentos en el Ministerio de Salud, también se desempeñó como Presidente de la Comisión de Fotoféresis-Aféresis y el Comité Científico para el Trasplante de Médula Ósea, así como Presidente de la Junta Nacional de Coordinación de Células de Tejidos de Órganos, la Junta Científica de Sangre del Cordón Umbilical y la Junta de Investigación de Células Madre. Es el presidente fundador de la FUNDACIÓN DE CÉLULAS MADRE y ha jugado un papel importante en el establecimiento de TURKOK (Banco Turco de Donantes de Células Madre). El Dr. İlhan tiene más de 300 publicaciones en revistas registradas en PubMed y más de 5000 citas. Posee el certificado Platino de Formación Médica Continua (CME) de la Asociación Europea de Hematología. Es propietario de cuatro marcas/patentes: "Kökten Çözüm (Solución Profunda), Telehematoloji (Telehematología), Hemaferez (Hemaféresis) y Kanser Kök Hücresi (Células Madre del Cáncer)". Actualmente preside la Asociación Médica de Ankara. El Prof. Dr. Osman İlhan, quien trabajó en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Ankara durante 50 años, comenzó a trabajar en el Hospital Özel Koru de Ankara el 1 de enero de 2023.

Educación
He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1978. After earning his specialization in internal diseases at the same Faculty in 1982, he did his military service as a chief assistant at GATA Hematology Clinic. After his compulsory service duty was given at SSK Ulus Hospital, he returned to Ankara University Faculty of Medicine for minor specialization.
He became associate professor of hematology in 1990. He worked in Genoa, Italy to increase his knowledge and experience on leukemia. He took part in the first blood stem cell transplant team in Turkey.
He went to the USA in 1996 and got M.D. At the Anderson Cancer Center, Prof. Dr. Martin Korbling and Prof.
He became a professor of hematology in 1996.
In 1999, he was elected regional president of the ESFH (European Society for Hemapheresis).
Hemapheresis Association Founding President in 2000, Dr. İlhan entered the management of the World Apheresis Association (WAA) in 2001. Again in October 2001, he became the President of the Turkish Hematology Association. Active in the European Union of Hematology (EHA), Dr. İlhan made a board of education within the body of ECAH (European Hematology Accreditation Committee). As Provider Status, he took part in the accreditation of the congress and course held in Turkey and paved the way for Turkish hematologists in CME credits.
He served as the founding president of the Cellular Therapy and Regenerative Medicine Association, which was founded in 2008.
In 2011, he became the founding president of the Geriatric Hematology Society.
He is the 'Honorary President' of the World Apheresis Congress (WAA) held in 2012. Having previously served on drug licensing and ethics committees at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ilhan; He served as the Chairman of the Photopheresis-Apheresis Commission and the Chairman of the Bone Marrow Transplant Scientific Committee, as well as the Chairman of the National Organ Tissue Cell Coordination Committee, the Cord Blood Scientific Committee and the Stem Cell Research Committee.
He is the founding chairman of the KÖK CELL FOUNDATION.
He played an important role in the establishment of TURKOK (Turkish Stem Cell Donor Bank). With more than 300 publications in Pub-Med registered journals, Dr. Ilhan's; It has over 5000 citations and a H Factor of 34, 1050 EHA-CME credits. It has the Platinum CME certificate of the European Hematology Association.
