BIG TOURIST SCAM & MALPRACTICE! THEY REMOVED FRESHLY PLACED IMPLANTS FROM MY MOTHER'S MOUTH AFTER I REFUSED TO PAY EXTRA.
I brought my mom to this clinic for full-mouth implants. We agreed on a treatment plan before our flight to Izmir, which I confirmed many times. They promised us a 4-star hotel, but on the day of the flight, they changed it to a noisy Airbnb in a residence isolated from the city center. That wasn't the biggest issue, but it gave me doubts because if they can lie once, they can lie twice. I specifically asked if anything regarding the dental plan would change, and they said no.
They placed the implants, but then my worst fear happened: they asked us to pay extra, without telling us about any price or plan changes beforehand. I was furious. I showed them the WhatsApp discussion and the payment plan we agreed on. I even escalated the situation to Suzana, but she ignored me.
When I refused to pay more than the €4,000 we had agreed upon during the first visit, "doctor" Hasan Onur Akın became angry and aggressively removed 2 fresh implants from my mom's mouth!! (I genuinely hope he didn't use them on other patients...). This caused her severe bone loss, especially since I already informed them that she was diagnosed with periodontitis.
After the first visit, I decided not to come back to this clinic and reached out to some clinics in Istanbul to place the zirconia crowns. After showing them the X-rays, no clinic wanted to take responsibility for the poorly done job by Westdent in Izmir, so I had no choice but to go back to them for the crowns. I asked a friend who works in a dental clinic in Russia, and she showed their work to her surgeon. He said it would need to be completely redone. otherwise, it would be impossible to fit proper dentures. He was absolutely right because the end result was terrible. Now, I have to wait until the bone heals to do them again in another clinic.
I saw how they deal with real reviews. Instead of taking responsibility for their actions, they threaten legal action against reviewers and attack them personally. I will be the one taking legal action against them:
I already went with my mother to file a police report at the Basmane station, which required a medical report from İzmir Eğitim Diş Hastanesi.
To fight against tax evasion, the Turkish government doesn't allow cash payments over 30,000 TL without a proper invoice that includes a passport number. They demanded €4,000 in cash and only accepted the remaining €2,000 by wire transfer. They provided a suspicious receipt with no passeport Id on it, I am reporting them to the Turkish tax authorities for investigation.
I will report them on trustpilot, sikayetvar, WhatClinic and Realself with all the evidence
I am also in contact with a lawyer from malpracticeinturkey to sue them.
I will wait for a response from the Turkish authorities; if I do not receive one, I will contact health-related media channels to share my story.
I deeply regret coming to this clinic. I put my mother's health in danger, wasted time, and lost €6,000 plus the cost of 16 flights..we didn’t deserve this.
Update 1: as you can see, the owner didn’t address the points I mentioned above and she, again, personally attacked me by falsely accusing me of making money by putting my mom’s health in danger which is just ridiculous
Update 2: 2 months after our second visit and my mom still experiences severe pain and sensitivity to cold/hot and the doctor in morocco said that she will need root canal for all the teeths that hurts which will require removal of the crowns and it will cost us 7500 €…
